I had a similar chase scene a couple of years ago. A hot doe was being run down by a large spike buck and since spikes aren't legal here I had to watch. They raced past my stand back and forth for over 20 minutes with the buck grunting and the doe blowing constantly. He would head her off and then she would cut away and it was constant and they never stopped. I doubt I could have had an ethical shot with my rifle it was so fast with changes in direction through blow downs and everything else. Not many dominant bucks here and a shame that a spike was doing the breeding. Goes to show the shape of our deer herd here in this state.
