I tend to ramble when I make posts. I am not pissed, just curious if others know of people who shoot a lot of deer and eat it.
One thing about my sisters family is if the dinner isn' t all eaten it goes to the family dog. That dog is eating good on deer day.
Cool. It' s a good topic. I mentioned in my own rambling post [>:] about the guy I know who never shares. I also regularly hunt with a very good hunter who' s family doesn' t like venison so he never takes any meat home. But he loves to hunt deer. Lucky for him, he has been a good partner of ours (good ethics, good shot, easy to get along with) and we are glad to have the venison he shoots. But, frankly, I don' t know if I' d wake up at 4 am and sit and freeze my a$$ off to give the meat away

. The years my family didn' t like venison (long story, but it' s changed), I more or less quit hunting. We always roughly plan how many deer we need for our party and shoot accordingly. Occassionally we end up with some extra, maybe something like 1/2 to 1 dressed out deer, but always know families in the area who take it. But almost always limit to what we want for our own. -zeke
