I've shot bear, Mathews and Hoyt. They all have some bows I really like and some that I really didn't like. As super hunt said, try a few and see what feels good. If you're looking for a used rig, see if you can find a Mathews Switchback. The SBXT is regarded as one of Mathews' best bows, and you can usually find them for a fraction of the cost of a new bow.
