I would argue the point if it came down to it. I use a .401 diameter bullet (10 mm) in my .45 cal muzzy. The law states that I must use a rifle .44 cal or larger. It states nothing about the bullet. I am using a legal firearm period. The law does not state I must use a .44 or larger diameter projectile.
