Not all guns have a first shot flyer. It would be interesting if we tried this with a known perpetrator. My knight master hunter is barely on paper with the first shot but shoots lights out after a few foulers.

Josmund, I am no expert like Sharpshooter, Semisane, or Ron, but my thoughts on your Knight Master is you may wish to try a different sabot. Sounds like you have a bit of a loose bore and need the fouling to tighten it up. MMP makes several different "thicknesses" to compensate for this problem in the muzzleloading industries failure to produce evenly bored barrel diameters. From what I have learned, there is not "set" bore size in this industry like there is in center fire rifles. From what I have learned, White is about the only maker with a standardized bore dimension. I may have just gotten lucky with this barrel for my TC because it is one fine and accurate barrel. It holds a better group than a couple of my center fire rifles.
