The box indicated the velocity at 1840 fps. And yes they are .458 bullets used in the normal 45-70 rifle.

Typically I am shooting the 300 CF right at 1900 fps.

The video certainly is more impressive than my humble media tests, although my results indicate the same type of power. One other thing I would add I was shooting the media target at yards and seeing the same sort of results.

The XP creates a far more impressive wound channel than I would have given it credit for in the gel tests shown in this video. In the two media tests that I ran the hydrostatic force at 80 yards proves that it will destroy the internal organs of the chest cavity but this U-Tube video is much more impressive.

Muley, the video is using a .458 bullet like you have but have no doubts that those little 40's would not be just as impressive 2200 fps the load you might want to shoot and still have the recoil that works for you.
