What about you ? Sabot or conical, which do you prefer . And by long range im talking over 300 yards . Say 300 to 1000
Many of the guys I know shooting very long ranges, all shoot very heavy bullets, most paper patched, 390grs and up.

I haven't had a problem with 300gr bullet/sabots out to both 400yds and 400 meters. I've tried 500yds but I run out of scope adjustment. I have a unique situation shooting the CDS turret and trying to add a 20moa base. It throws off all the CDS turret settings (yardage). I ....... may....... have Leupold send me just a standard turret, where I can install a 20moa base and try the longer ranges. However I do know of a couple guys shooting Ultimates to 500yds using sabots, with very small groups.

This target was shot at 400yds with 300gr WM bullets and H5045LB sabots:
