RE: Anyone shoot DARTON???
Drew:
I have not shot either of the two Dartons you are considering, but I have a bow that I think is quite similar to both. It is a Darton/Proline Mountain 2000 with the CPS 2 system (earlier version). My bow has straight limbs like the Mag 33, but is 36" A to A. It is the smoothest drawing bow that I have shot. It is actually very easy for me to draw 65# with this bow, and I had a shoulder operation last June. I think you would be pleased with either of the bows. The Mag 33 has a higher brace ht., and the Express has Darton's recurve limbs which I have heard many good things about. I haven't shot every bow out there (though I plan on shooting as many as I can next week at the Harrisburg show). I did own a HCA Carbon Force for about a month last year. My Darton is a better bow in most respects, except for the areas where, in my opinion, they are equal (noise and recoil). The Darton is easier to draw, has a better valley, yet a very positive draw stop, is faster, and is much easier to tune. (I had the MX1 cam on the HCA). I don't think you could go wrong with either one.
