You only need to watch one elephant hunt to see how dangerous it is. I have much respect for any hunter that can stand there taking the shot while the elephant charges him.
I've never shot one, but I've stood my ground on a few of them while lined up for a brain shot if it comes to it. These things always look a lot bigger in the field than they do behind a moat in the zoo. I've got a good friend that takes part in the annual elephant cull in Kruger Natl Park and he always has some really wild stories to tell.
