Here is a decent map showing the range of the main subspecies, but not where there are hybrids like the one your boy shot in eastern Kansas. I'm not aware of anything but Easterns being in Missouri seeing as how it's a major turkey state and would have no reason to do any cross breeding to increase their flocks.
