2-2 1/2, feet or inches? is it thick or sparse? If it's 2+ feet of thick grass, you'll have better luck finding turkeys elsewhere. They will move through tall grass, to another area where they can see a threat coming. Hens my nest in the edges of tall & thick stuff though. If something spooks them,they'll hide in tall grass

If there's any places near the area, that are getting grazed, I'd check there and along any roads or trails that cut through the grass.
