I know many people that shot grouse on the ground or in trees with rifles or shotguns. It doesn't matter to me. Had a cousin in the state of Washington that hunted blue grouse with a 410 tc contender handgun and shot most of them out of trees. Also see your avatar picture is of the tikka 512.
