Yep, see through mounts put a scope way too high to get a proper cheek weld most of the time and there is usually no need to go to the iron sight anyway. The same thing happens when guys go to these big 50mm objective lenses on scopes when a good 40mm is all that's needed.
For see-thru mounts it's is a given, it's 100% impossible to have a good cheekweld with both the sights and the scope. But having a 50mm objective doesn't really have anything to do with improper cheek weld. If a 40mm scope fits your eye position on a given stock, then adding a ~5mm cheek shim/riser gets you proper to a 50mm scope.
