So, I started trapping coyotes last year in North Georgia. I had trapped rabbit with my grandfather as a child but after he died, the idea of trapping kind of died with him.
Well, about a year and a half ago I was looking through old pictures of me and my grandfather and came across a picture of the two of us holding up a rabbit. I went over to a work buddy's house a few days later. He had mentioned having some old barn wood laying out behind his shed and had told me I could help myself to it. I went over there and grabbed a few nice, straight pieces and that evening me and my daughter were in the drive way sawing and hammering. For a 4 year old she was a lot of help.
After showing her how to set the trap and seeing the intrigue on her face, I decided our trapping endeavor didn't have to end at the rabbits.
I researched coyote trapping extensively for 2 months online before I bought my first traps. Me and my daughter would stay up late on weekend nights (when Momma said it was okay of course) and we'd watch videos.
The video below is the first "page" in my video trapping journal. It was also my first attempt at video editing so understand if it is not exactly professional. The first half of the video is preparation footage (for folks that may be trying to learn like I was) and the second half goes to the trap line.
I hope some of you like the video.
I'm glad I found another active forum to get involved with. It seems like this is a dying form of communication and social interaction.
Thanks folks.
