I prefer fixed. I've never used mechanicals, but from what I've seen in the store, replacement blades cost nearly as much as buying new broadheads. Also, I'm worried that one of the mechanical blades could break off in the animal. How would you find that thin little blade to remove? Or worse yet, slice your hand open while cleaning the animal. I shoot Montec G5 Fixed blades, 100gr.
