First off here in Ohio i have found deer do not use ponds all that much for they do not need a lot of water to live and most will come from dew off what they eat, but the first pic i would go to the south where that little bit of woods connect to the big chunk. That should be a good edge for deer to travel, but would have to be on the ground and see what deer sign is in there. For sure on the second pic i would be on the south side manly bc that's a good edge where deer would have to travail to not come out in the open by the pond and to by pass going out in the field. Hope that helps but relay just need to put boots on the ground and look but that's where i would start.
