Default I was close, but got busted!

Well, I haven' t said much here about a buck I' ve been following this season. I seen him before season started and immediatly began trying to put together a plan for season. I seen him once so far, the second Satureday of season, but he was at 150 yards or so, but I no trouble telling it was him. He' s an 11 pointer with what looks to be a 23-25" spread. His tines look in the neighborhood of 10 inches with a forked G-2 on the left side.

Ok, anyway, I setup before light this morning on a trail between two beds and a small field to my back. He has definitly worked the area as there have been some rather large rubs of late in the vicinity. I snuck in at 5AM this morning in the fog and got situated. Well, I sat all day without seeing a deer till 2PM. It was him. He came from behind me and with the woods being as quite as they were, I didn' t hear him. When I did finally hear him, he was about 15 yards almost right below me and coming! I though, " holy sh#%, what now?" He was slightly right of me, and me being right handed automatically put me in a predicament. He stood there at 10 yards and looked around and sniffed. I slowly turned and drew back, but he was quartering toward me with no shot possible. I stood there for what seemed like forever with the bow drawn waiting for him to make a turn. Instead, he looked up, seen me and bolted out of the area 50 yards and slowly walked around me and disapeared.

I' m still shaking from the adrenaline. I think I might have blown my only opportunity. It was there, just not how I planned for it to be. Only a couple days left and it looks like tomorrow is a bust because of dangerously high winds. I' ll have to wait till friday.
