And yes, I am proficient with my .243. Deer usually just fall over, with cheap 100gr factory loads.
There's a few guys that posted in this thread that have killed elk w/ a 243. Asked them what bullets they used.
Premium bullets like Nosler Partitions & Barnes TTSX are available from the factory from a couple of different manufactures.
