RE: Jumped the line... almost. Recovery Success
The arrow hit exactly where I aimed. But the deer had already moved. she jumped the line both times. The second time though, she wheeled around and moved back into the arrow' s path. The manufacturer' s specs have my bow shooting 240 feet per second. In practice I have never had anything happen that made me think it wasn' t shooting that fast. But it sure ddidn' t seem very fast on that first shot. It was the same deer. She only ran to the edge of the rough stuff before turning around and coming back after that first shot. I can understand her being able to jump at 30 yards. but that first shot was more like 12 yards out and 25 feet up. I' m still counting my blessings on recovering her.
