either one, and you will not go wrong. I own several slug guns, and my best one overall is the Savage 220f....It handles like a rifle, it's trigger is great, lightweight, and it's a damn tack driver with very little if any recoil. Mine is topped off with a Leupold VX-II, (known now as the VX-2) 3-9x40, with Grim Reaper's one piece medium rings/base part# 18200, it loves the Remington Accutips 3", and I'm getting 3/4" groups at 100 yds., at 200 yds. I'm getting 1.3"/1.5", of course this under ideal conditions on a bench. Today's 20ga. shotgun and ammo have come a very long way, and that 20ga will take down deer, bears, etc. I only hunt with the 20ga. for the last 6 plus years as I got tired of the recoil of 12ga., and by no means would I question the 12ga., I still have a few deer/bear hunting. If you want to save a few bucks, look into the H&R Ultra Deluxe I have one in 20ga, and it's also a tack driver, but not as tight of groups as the Savage 220f, but very accurate.
