Bad analogy. Flashlight/lantern: essential for getting in and/or out of the woods in the dark. Conversely, other than using it as a flashlight, there's not a single thing you can do on a cell phone to improve your chances of getting a deer over just going out and hunting. In fact, it may reduce your chances. It's a distraction. If you're focused and fiddling with a phone, you're not paying attention to what's happening around you. Keep it for emergencies.
