There have been a few cougars seen in the Northeast over the years.

We now have black bears that are quite common, and even some moose.
The coyote is new to us here and has ruined woodchuck hunting.
I have seen the cougars a few times before as well up here.. They say we do not have them here which actually is a good thing. I just hope no one sees any kittens from them.. That way they can only say they just pass threw and do not breed here or someone had let one go. We really do not need them around as it would make our way of living a big mess. The Canadian lynx makes things tough enough for our trappers here..
Coyotes have been here from around the mid to late seventies and we have a big dislike for them here. They have made our deer hunting a lot harder with the winter kills and spring fawns being killed by bear and coyotes.. Our biologists had a few pens with coyotes in them that "escaped" back in the seventies across different locations in the state. Now we are over run with them..
