Word got out about shooting there with no fee like the state range still was room for every one most of the time. Then the slobs moved in. The land owner then posted the property, no more shooting there.

That is exactly why I hate to shoot there... I can not believe the mess people leave. Or even the stuff they discard and shoot them leave lay. There is so much broken glass lying on the pit floor you really need to be careful walking.

The land is USFS land and they have wanted to close it for the last several years. The abuse just gets worse each year. The FS can not afford to pick up each month and they do not have the funds to close it either. I would suspect the next timber sale in the area - closure will be written into the contract. I usually take a big plastic bag with me and fill that up each time I go but it is so bad now one bag does not even dent the collection.
