If it's not 209 ignition I'd just let it be. There's nothing wrong with precussion caps and an extra five minutes of cleaning is hardly going to ruin your day. To me, that gun would be interesting only if it had a slow twist for round balls.
A .54MK or LK with a 1:66 twist - THAT'S THE TICKET!!

I have one in .50 cal that had a #11 ignition but I couldn't keep the caps on while hunting (I don't put the plunger against the cap - too unsafe) so I converted it to the 209 (with red plastic jacket) ignition which I like a lot better.
