I did forget to mention - Component pricing:

This Duty Gear vest runs $80, then each component runs about $10-20.

The Mil-Surp FLC's I use cost $15, and each mil-surp component runs $5-10 bucks, I think I paid $15 for a couple items. The big difference is that the Mil-Surp stuff might be used, might be new, or might be well-used, and the Duty Equipment is blaze with black trim, rather than being camo.

If you peruse the "molle gear" section of midwayusa, you'll find a lot of component options, and you can see how NORMAL commercial product prices vary (5.11, blackhawk, SpecOps, etc).

(I wear an XL thin orange vest on top of mine for deer hunting, doesn't really seem to impede access to the gear.)

Duty Equipment's prices are REALLY competitive. I'd be pretty confident that they're the most affordable out of any of the commercial sector products, and are only moderately more expensive than mil-surp stuff.
