Yup, thought the same thing... One thought that occurred to me was because it is such a nice job, maybe because the guy is so good he has a big back log of mounts to do... Another thought was maybe taxidermy is a side gig for the guy.
You got it right. He's a world competition winner. I wish I'd have taken a pic of his pedestal mount mulie, covered in a frosty / snowy material. It placed second in a world competition. It took me a lifetime to get that buck, a few extra months to get him back wasn't that bid a deal.
