Default TenPoint steel cable conversion?

I tried to find the steel cables for my 2004 Titan TL-4 xbow on TenPoints site, they showed the part # but the cables are "no longer available". So I called TP today and was told they no longer make steel cables and that they recommended I return the frontend to them for "updating" which consists of replacing the wheels and putting a new string and synthetic cable on which would then allow any dealer to replace with the newer synt cables in the future.

The cost quoted was $118 + 30-45mins of labor ($50pr hr rate) and a 2 day turnaround. I thought that was fair as my local dealer is Gander Mtn and honestly I wouldn't let the pimple faced kid up there TOUCH my bow and I'm sure they'd charge $100+ for cable+string replacement & WHO KNOWS how long it'd take even if they COULD get a new cable! More than likely their "archery tech" at Gndr Mtn was still drinkin koolade from a sippie cup and watchin Barney tapes when my xbow was built! I'm just curious, does anyone know if the synt cables be any quieter+smoother than the steel? TP is putting new wheels on it but I wouldn't expect them to be anymore aggressive so I'm not expecting any speed gain (other than "perhaps" a 1-2fps gain just because the syn cables are a smidge lighter than the steel so they should "react quicker" having less mass).

I thought about selling my bud this ol TL-4 and buying a new TP Venom but honestly I just like this ol bow and it doesn't have much use on it anyway. I killed a 120 class 8pt with it back in Oct so it certainly can still "sprinkle the mummy dust" when the moment arises!
