Had a great time. Lots of vendors, perfect weather, good course. I shot my "el cheapo" Samick Journey with a new BCY-X string. I wasn't expecting much since I haven't shot much at all in the last 6 months or more, plus I didn't have time to tune the bow--made a string Wed. or Thursday, shot maybe 2 dozen arrows from it before leaving for the shoot.

My first (and best) round was a 314. 36 targets, we counted 12's. Only shot four "5's", no blanks. Shot a clean round again today, didn't add up the score but I know it wasn't quite as good. Almost reached that 9 points per target goal--arrgghh!!!

Got lots of comments on how quick and quiet the bow was, with just a small set of cat whisker silencers. I'm loving this BCY-X more and more. I was pulling 51# @ 3.5", arrows weigh 434 grains (8.5 gpp). Haven't shot it through a chrony, but it's obviously faster than my longbow (I kept shooting high, and I shoot almost 10 gpp on it). I averaged 187 fps on my longbow when I chrony'd it years ago.

With a little fine tuning, this may be a bow I keep around for a while. Think they retail for around $130. The string that comes on them isn't too good, but with a good string and a little tuning they shoot really well.

Anyhow...the shoot was great--can't wait until the next one!
