Default Last Day, Last Hour in FLA

I texted a buddy and told him we needed a miracle as we had one hour left to hunting season.

A kid I've taken deer hunting several times this year was down to the wire. We had no luck in bow, muzzleloader and now it was the last day of gun season.

As if there was a heavenly script written, I looked up and saw a buck at 5:15 coming onto the food plot. The kid got ready on the shooting sticks, the deer faced away, then got broadside for a second, then faced us and finally he turned to feed for a nice long time broadside.

I told him to take a nice deep breath and let it out slowly as we had practiced. Before I could get my binocs up again- BANG. The deer jumped 5' straight up, huge mule kick and he bolted for cover. The 100 yards shot was perfect.

I cut his face in half to prevent weirdos from hijacking his photo, but I left his smile. He was pumped. Last hour 7 pointer.

This was the bookend hunt- I took another kid on opening day and we got one. And after a short tracking job we had the other bookend.
