No, perforated primers are definitely something that you don't want.

However, like I posted earlier, the firing pin on THAT rifle would not strike the primer hard enough to fire a rifle primer. I put hundreds of rounds with the large pistol primers through that rifle with exactly zero perforated primers. They worked fine in THAT rifle. All of my other rifles have absolutely no problem firing rifle primers, so I wouldn't even think of using pistol primers in them.
