All I need to get an elk out is:
2 knives (Havalon and Case Trapper)
6 game bags
parachute cord
small first aid kit
pack frame
I haven't packed out an elk bone in a long time. I use the gutless method and bone mine where they hit the ground. I always have a packframe with me with a small daypack on it with my regular hunting kit.
