I have used estrous scent successfully for years. Just this year I switched to Rush Creek lure and have had several small to medium bucks come right in. (Waitin for the biggun). Does sometime react in an alarmed fasion but I dont really care if the does dont offer a shot as I dont shoot them anyway. I had a buck wed. eve follow the drag rag trail in and went to my cotton soaked pill bottle and sniff it. It knocked it off the stump and then began to sniff it pushing it around in the leaves.
As far as bigger bucks being brought in...yes it does work. Several times. The only bucks I have ever seen alarmed by the lure were all small spikes.
