Reb - don't worry about asking questions. We're all here to help each other.
Another thing if you're worried about oil getting into the breech area, after cleaning you can stand your rifle up muzzle down on a paper towel or cloth. Any excess oil will drain out of the muzzle instead of collecting in the breech.
As for swabbing between shots at the range the windex-alcohol mix is a good idea. However if I am going to be going hunting I simply swab the bore with a dry patch to remove any excess oil on the bore's surface. Then I snap off a couple caps as Cayugad suggested to be sure my fire channel is open. Then load of and go hunt.
