Thanks for the contact information. I had come across the Castboolits site but didn't know they provide the Bullshop muzzle load bullet.
I just shot 50 No Excuses conicals. I am apparently battling the TC QLA issue. 1" groups at 100 yards are common with Blackhorn 209 sabot loads. With conicals, 3 - 4" groups happen, but there are too many fliers. It seems best with a felt wad. With Blackhorn 209, No Excuses lube may be creating a "goo", that seems to be more of an issue with cooler weather. Goo on the breechplug seems to have caused a misfire, first ever for the gun. The goo doesn't appear with Pyrodex.
The best conical combination I've tried is 385 Hornady Great Plains with an MMP Ballistic Bridge sub base. Accuracy is similar with either Pyrodex or BH 209. No goo appears with this.
I measured .501" when I slugged the bore. The No Excuses loads very easy, maybe too easy. I'm wondering if the slightly larger diameter Bullshops might improve things. I understand Bullshops has alternate lubes. Maybe they have one that works better with BH 209?
