The ONLY difference is cosmetic! The Deluxe is a "poor mans Mark V Deluxe" with the fancy grade Monte Carlo stock with rosewood caps, white spacers, chrome bluing & high polish stock.

The Sporter is a cheaper stock with oil finish, no pistol cap & the metal is bead blasted dull.

Performance wise one is just as good as the other, the Deluxe is just flashier & has that "Weatherby" flair & style. (Which I like, I have a MkV 300 Deluxe that is gorgeous & looks like a blued steel super model. ) But my sons no frills, much cheaper 243 Vanguard youth is just as accurate!
