I had cut the major tendons there and was told I could do nothing and eventually get a significant part of my strength back from other tendons helping, but surgery was recommended--effectively ending my season. Fortunately, I elected surgery and listened to everyone elses' success stories, but recovered faster than expected and did get back out later in the season. Do the right thing and get the shoulder healed properly while the injury is fresh.
