lol... I hear ya ... sure, lot's of folks can easily hit the killzone or even a bullseye on a target shot out to 50 yards and beyond, myself included. But 99% of people I know or have talked to (including myself) would not shoot at a deer at 50 yards offhand with a crossbow for reasons other than their skill level...People generally try to keep their shots at 40yards and under because the animal may jump the string or move before the arrow reaches it. the deer moving, taking a step, that's my concern when I pull the trigger, I only shoot offhand, even when I sight in, its not an issue. The amazing thing to me is how little they react at these distances, arrow and bow noise included, they just look up at the sound of the bow and the arrow hits. If it was a higher risk in my mind and experience, I wouldn't do it. A wounded deer isn't acceptable to me. But, all of mine drop in 60 yards or less, so.
