RE: Am I crazy?
wow...thats kinda early....but a short little hunting trip would be neat for him to watch every now and then...take him when your doe hunting or that actions hot and let him see some game...he should enjoy it......get him hooked for life.....i ahve pics of me in diapers with trout i caught....sure dad had to help alot but i reeled them in....we used to spend countless hours fishing for bluegills until worked up patience.....now i can fish all day for a BIG one and if i dont get a bite i dont care....i lvoe fishing more then anything....even hunting...i think its because i did it forever and was hooked from a really young age....my dad still has to fight me over taking my fishing gear to deer camp every year.....this year i just might have to take the fly rod and head to the flyfishing only streams on sunday if i drive up myself which i believe i am....i was always scouting and hanging stands with dad when i was really young and squirrel hunting with him...then we got into coon hunting.....i was chasins our hounds through the dark when i was about 6 or 7.....a few years later dad let me control the dogs and do everything but the shooting(couldnt shoot till i was 12) now im 16....i learned alot from old dad....he was surprised when i broguht home that old longbeard..my first turkey...i scouted and did it all myself..he was proud to see i listend and payed attention all them years good enough to do it myself.....even though im old enough to hunt alone and with my friends which i do alot when dad has to work and such...my favorite hunting partner will always be dad....hes the greatest...tomarow im heading north with him....i cant wait...3 hours we wil lbe on the road.....i cant wait....good luck with your son.....hes on the right track already...i found my love for the outdoors keeps me out of alot of trouble and keeps my grades up...my parents let me skip school any time i want(like tomarow) because im a good kid and get good grades...i know if they fall my hunting is gone.....i wont have that......good luck....dress him warm and get him out there!!!
