Dang,
I went spotting tonight and saw a bunch of nice bucks in the area that I am hunting tommorow afternoon. The sad thing is that the two nicest bucks I saw were both 7 points. One 7 point was probablly 18" wide, 8" tines, good mass, but, he had a busted G-3.
The other 7 point was much bigger. He was probablly 21" wide outside, probablly 7 or 8 inch brows, 11-12" G-2' s, 10" G-3' s, probablly 22" -23" main beams, decent mass, but nothing really special. The thing is, he only had one browtine. This guy was enormous.
The smaller 7 point was chasing 4 doe and was really really trying to get him a piece. He kept jumpin up on the backs of the does, but, they would run. The big 7pt was bedded down in " the triangle" (a triangle shaped piece of woods in the middle of corn and alfalfa fields) and he had a doe bedded just about a foot or two from him. Maybe he already breed her cause his neck fur was all ruffled up. His neck was as big around as a frigin tree.
But hey, I won' t care about those missing points if one of those big boys comes in tommorow. I saw probablly 8 or 9 different bucks on that farm tonight. Hopefully tommorow I will let the air out of one of them.
