I just purchased a used PSE Nova Compound bow.

The draw length is 29, which is good for, however it is set at 70lbs. For the life of me I can not pull this back. I went to Academy Sports and the guy lowered it to 65ish. He said that is the lowest it would go. At 65lbs I can pull it back with my hands, but when I use the trigger release...I cant pull it back.

Am I just out of luck if this is the lowest it will go?

Thanks all and happy hunting!

Well I've never shot pse. I shot a Hoyt and My draw length is 1/2 inch too long. I went to dealer and said if they had to lower it would take new cables, strings, possibly new limbs. So I would think that if you can't pull it back with your hands and not your release its actually might be a bit too long of a draw length for you. Release should be alot easier than pulling it back than fingers. Less stress on your hand and its basically puts the load on your shoulders instead of your wrist and shoulders if you use your hands. Are you straning at 65lbs? I mean are you having to raise the bow up or turn your head back to get it back? I would go to a dealer or archery store beside commercial like academy tell them problem and they can set you on your way. In my opinion seems like your draw lenght is little long. Where did you buy the bow? Did you not shoot it before buying it? Its a good idea to always shoot and test your draw length out before buying a bow. Thanks
