I just bought my first trail cam, a Moultrie 880. When setting it up in the field, I tried to get it aimed per the instructions. As I moved in front of the camera, sometimes the red light would go on and sometimes not, even if my movements were in the same place. I also found that the range of the motion sensor seemed to be about 40 feet, even though the specs list the range to be out to 100 feet. Since I have no previous experience with a trail cam, can someone tell me if my experiences are the norm, or does it sound like the cam is not working properly. Thanks.
