Were you using FMJ ammo? I don't hunt with my Mosin very much but when I do I use Soft Point ammo and never had to chamber another round on a hog. Aim for the ear and they won't get up..
just went with the ammo i had. i figured i had a couple thousand rounds of military surplus spam cans laying around, it was time to use a few rounds
