Default RE: Grunt Calls vs Deer Grunts

I' ve had calls that sounded plastic and I don' t use them. Some of them don' t sound plastic, but I think it' s impossible to make one actually get that urrp a buck gives off.
I think the True Talker has a great tone, but you can' t make any call get the urrp. A grunt tube will give you more of a upp, upp, rather than the urrp, errrp urrp. I know, it' s hard to explain in print but I think anyone that' s heard a deer grunt knows what I' m saying.

Then again, at the right time of year, I don' t know just how realistic you have to be if a deer is in the right mood. I also wonder what a grunt tube sounds like at 50 or 80 yards. Maybe some of the fake sound we hear close up fades away as you get farther out.
