The 7mmRem Mag will do every bit as good. Its also cheaper and easier to find ammo. Unless you have you are a Roy Weatherby fan and need to own one of his calibers ( I was and did for a short time), the 7 Rem is just less hassle to own. If you NEED a Weatherby rifle then I would go with the 270 Weatherby. I can tell you that the 300 Weatherby Mag recoiled noticably more than a 300 Win Mag and doesn't kill any better from my experience. I hunted with the 7RemMag, 300 Weatherby and 300 Win Mag. I now only hunt with a 270 Winchester simply because I never needed any of the magnums extra speed for any of my kills under 400 yards. Its just a matter of how much over kill are you looking for with all the magnum choices mentioned. Whatever you do, just get good glass for it.
