JOC was a writer when I started out in the early 50's. Along with Warren Page, Pete Brown and Col. Townsend Whelen were the primary hunting writers of the day.
O'Connor did not talk all that much about rifles. He was more of a hunter/writer. Page and Whelen knew far more.
I would not want a rifle with somebody's name blazed on it or the over done fluer-de-lis and lasered in false checkering.
