Default Omega z5 50 cal.

My longest shots were 250 yards out to 300 from my shooting house from a bench with my rifle in a gun vise. The rifle is a T/C Omega Z5 50 cal. loaded with a 45 cal. .451 240 gr. xtp hp and a mmp black sabot. I am using 150grs. of 777 and a cci 209 primer. Scope is a 10x50 tasco world class plus. Deer were bucks, does, hogs, coyotes, and a few other type critters. I spent long hours of shooting at targets in this foodplot at fixed ranges and have my scope set for 250 yards. After much practice I have got my shot pattern at 250 yards to about 2.5 or better inches with a 3 shot pattern swabbing between shots before the pattern opens up to around 5 to 6 inches. Only bad thing is i have to take two rifles the omega for the long shot and my knight mk 85 or one of my traditional side hammer guns for the close shots. I use the same bullet and black sabot in the mk 85 as the omega but only 100grs of powder. I use the mk 85 out to 100 yards. My go to side hammer is a T/C Hawken 50 cal. with prb and 80grs FFG goex black powder, i use mink oil as lube its the best stuff i have ever used as patch grease. I just got a new in box old stock T/C Hawken 54 CAL. a few weeks back and if it groups well i will be using it as a close range rifle along with the others.
