Col like most western state depends on NR fees to support it's wild life & keep in state tags cheap. So a full boycott will bleed the Col wildlife agency bad, real bad.
But does not really bother the Dems who passed this crap.
A full boycott well carried out will bleed many many small business owners & ranchers of income. I include ranchers as many of the smaller ones need the trespass fees from hunters as part of the yearly income. Does not mean I forgot the gun shop owners, restaurant & gas stations ect. just had seen no mention of ranchers being hurt & some would be.
I doubt the big city Dems will care about them.
But do like the idea to boycott the Denver, Col. Springs & Boulder areas & will as will by brother. My brother skis & fishes Col & I've fished & hunted there. We've both spent $$$ in Denver & Col. Springs areas, but agree we will not do so again.
Very disappointed in all the fighting I've seen reading this long thread between members here. Any anti reading this thread has to have a big, big grin.
Some say screw the outfitters, ranchers, restaurants, gas station owners ect. & boycott Col. Not me. I happen to like the ranch owners & the foreman of the ranch I've hunted on two of my trips & caught a few fish there in a small mt. river on the property, or perhaps would be just considered a large stream, not sure. Also enjoy stopping in at the sports/gun shop in Rifle when I've been there, nice folks all.
Others claimed to want to stop the boycott, then turn around and say......"go & don't ever come back!! OR, "Maybe they'll raise the NR tag fees next year in case you plan another one of these stupid boycotts." That's right guys burn any remaining bridges. While YOU may think this will leave you with fewer hunters to compete with you may also find yourself not hunting at all. The Dems in Denver don't care for you & may just price YOU out (250% increase for YOU, to make up lost $$$$), or just shut you out. You'll have no one but yourselves to blame with comments like the two quoted & others of that flavor. As others have posted, there are other states that also have plenty of game & treat gun owners better than Col. is doing at the moment. And comments like the above WILL help the boycott effort.
It' would be better for everyone one to send $$$$$ to help recall or otherwise remove from office in the next election those who voted anti-gun. $20-$40 or whatever you choose, but makes more sense to me than a boycott. And I think the Pols who voted anti_gun would note the inflow of $$$ to those they have to run against & will KNOW why. Just make sure you also let those you support with $$ KNOW why you are helping them.
Best of luck to you guys/gals in Col. you've a hard road to walk. And a house divided against it's self can't long stand. So I hope you within Col. have your act together better than it looks like here. Cause if you don't, these laws are just a beginning to your conversion to the Mt. of California...........
