You need to buy a small game license ($12.50) and a big game license ($12.50) and a archery license ($12.50). This will allow you to hunt from the beginning of archery season(usually around the start of Oct) through the very end of the season(Jan 5 this year). Check the reg's for the county you will be hunting in, as they vary from county to county. On your license you will have deer, turkey, and bear stamps along with being able to hunt small game also. Va also has bonus deer tags that can be purchsed and used (again, check the reg's for your county). It's really not that confusing. And yes, you can use a bow during the gun season, if you choose.
