Just off the top of my head... I would say I would not be as concerned about long range accuracy as energy at long range.
I would not think that shortening the barrel would not have a tremendous effect on accuracy, if the barrel was accurate in the first place. I do feel that you will loose some energy shooting a short barrel - especially if you might be shooting BH which is a progressive burning powder and the barrel length will help it burn more efficiently.
