Sounds like you have a mount problem, not a scope problem. As for centering the crosshairs, don't worry about it. I've moved scopes from one rifle to another and I just re-zeroed them on the new rifle.
As for Leupold's service: it's excellent. Last time I sent one in I got it back within two weeks.
